Protect Health Rights for Women and Girls
In the last three years, the United States has emerged as a global leader on issues relating to the health rights of women and girls worldwide. This development is reflective of the views held by a majority of American citizens. According to recent surveys:
- Nine out of 10 Americans believe that every woman in the world deserves access to quality maternal and reproductive health care.
- Seventy percent of Americans agree that the United States should lead the way to help women and girls in other countries who are most in need of assistance.
Yet despite this overwhelming support, leadership in the United States House of Representatives have announced plans to zero out funding for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), whose mandates include maternal health, voluntary family planning and ending violence against women.
Act Now! to secure the dignity and health rights of women and girls worldwide.
Contact your senators and representatives today and urge them to oppose plans to zero out funding for UNFPA.
